Founded by Thomas Böcker, Merregnon Studios was the first company to stage and produce a game music concert outside Japan in 2003, at the Leipziger Gewandhaus in Germany (www.gameconcerts.com). It continues to produce concerts all over the world, including the ongoing tour of its hugely popular Final Symphony program, which to date has been performed in Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, the USA, New Zealand, China, Austria and Australia.
The company has won several awards for best concert productions and has worked with both DECCA and Deutsche Grammophon to release a number of CDs featuring video game music, entering the official Classical charts in Germany. Merregnon Studios produced the first all-European video game concert production to take place in Japan and has been the first company ever to work with the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra on live performances of video game music.

I was in the 7th grade when this game was released, stayed up countless hours grinding levels lol, FF7 soundtrack always brings tears to my eyes, so many memories

I respect the effort, but this feels overarranged and misses the intimate feel of the OG.
I am still hoping one day we get Final Symphony 2 a studio recording and release :)

It would be amazing if the PDF scores were made available for purchase (not for performance, but for study).
To be honest,the video game music Uematsu made himself on a computer sounds better than this orchestra here. I think it's a little too overboard and not to my tastes. I prefer Nobuo's original soundtracks.

Uematsu's music is definitely compared to John Williams music. Nobody else but Nobuo-san can create such beautiful music like these.
And like Williams movie scores, it almost feels like the scenes in final fantasy games are composed around uematsus symphonies - I'm certain the final fantasy series would be nowhere near its legendary status without the music elevating it.
I watched this scene yesterday for the first time and I searched for this song because it was so pretty and emotional ❤ the orchestral version really accentuates these points 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

This is the reason why I want aerith to live, she never meet Cloud after he regains his memories.
After all their time traveling together, she still hadn't met the real Cloud. The date was their only moment really alone together since sector 5. She was probably waiting all that time to tell him. If the remake brings them together on the date again, now that she knows her fate I wonder what it will be like this time?

it's a motif for Cloud's theme. Since this is Cloud's date. There are also Tifa and Aerith motifs hidden as well!

It's amazing how humble Nobuo is considering that he composed all of our favorites, but then we forget he might've started as an amateur but thru hard work he became such a master and genius composer.
I can only hope that the music of the remake can at least be half as good as this.

このビデオを見たことのある日本人はどれくらいいるんだろう。もっと日本のみんなに注目してもらいたいなあ。 仕掛け人トーマス・ベッカーは15年以上も前からずっと日本のゲーム音楽をヨーロッパのオーケストラで公演してる。ひとつには日本のゲームのプロモーションという意味もあるけれども、もうひとつはクラシック離れしているヨーロッパの聴衆を呼び戻すという意味もある。 スクウェア・エニックスの立場としてはどうなんだろう？確かに日本にはゲーム音楽を演奏するオーケストラはいっぱいあるし、言うまでもなく欧米以上に様々なコンサートが開かれてる。ビジネス的にはそれで十分というひともいるかもしれない。でも、ケルンフィルハーモニー管弦楽団、ロイヤル・ストックホルム・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、そしてこのロンドン交響楽団の響き！これはやっぱり聴かないと損！ 単に「ヨーロッパやイギリスでもゲーム音楽やってます」という話ではない。とんでもないすごいことなんだというのをみんなにわかってほしいな。ていうか聴けばわかるはず。
Pure magic...
Didn't do it for me. Too much meandering and too many crescendos which rendered them impotent. It was missing the best elements and sounded more like a Star Wars wedding scene than Cloud and Aeris' special moment together.
Being fair, this’s only a small part of the symphonic movement it’s from, taken out of its context

Incredible orchestration...goosebumps produced. This is truly admirable work.
I'm just awestruck by how metal and advante gaarde this arrangement of the main theme of VII is. It really emphasized the tragedy and horror of Aeris' murder which fundamentally shapes the call to action response of the game's third act. bravo!
